April 2012 Archives

Santa Barbara natives Ethan Davis & Josie Martin of Candyland have taken LAZRtag’s “Jump” and made it into an electro dubstep banger.  The deep grimey drops alongside some sick vocals have me feelin’ this track so much. I have this track on repeat playing full blast right now and I suggest you pick up the track and do the same. For more on Candyland here are their links.

Don Diablo’s “Silent Shadows” has got a really awesome remix done by Alexander Lager and Johannes Gustafsson of Qulinez. Ever since they dropped their original track “Troll” I’ve kept an eye out on these guys because they’ve got a killer sound. This remix has sick breaking vocals with a winding building up leading us to that dirty drop I love so much. The remix is out now but unfortunately not in the US yet.

Chuckie gets down in his latest track with his new Dirty Dutch duo, Glowinthedark. “Electro Dude” goes so hard with its bass pounding electro house sound going right along side some nice dirty Dutch. Looks like Chuckie is trying to take electro to another level with its lyrics being “This is fucking electro dude.”

Milk N Cookies just finished a week on the road at 5 different schools playing with a lot of huge artists. Here is their journey documented in their latest episode of WCTV. These guys are hilarious and know how to party. These guys get down with all their drinking and mischief in between their performances. I wouldn’t mind joining in on the craziness. They also stop by the Bounce Festival with Tiesto, Alesso, & Time Mason which they were right behind them during their whole set. All in all these guys are awesome and you have to check them out.

The last Nero tour had in LA was at the Music Box when we had Dan Stephens and Alana Watson missing in action. Even though we did get a great show that night with Joe Ray on the tables it would’ve been awesome to see them all as a LIVE set. Well our wishes where granted this past Thursday while they were on tour for their Second Reality tour and their Coachella stop. Nero decided to give the people of LA something they didn’t see their last time here. Click through for the full review.

San Francisco based DJ/Producer Tall Sasha has created a pretty epic mashup combining the vocals of Adele’s “Set Fire To The Rain” and No_ID & Martin Volt’s “Zelda.” The powerful vocals seem to fit seamlessly over “Zelda” as if it was originally meant to be. I haven’t heard these tracks mashed up together before and this sounds awesome and really well done. You gotta check it out and you can even download it for free! Whenever I see the name Dyro attached to a new track I’ve got to check it out. After the release of his edit to Hardwell’s “Kontiki” this is someone who I am going to keep an eye out for. “Raid” is another huge stadium sounding track perfect for being released on Revealed. There is not an official release date yet but I will make sure I find out asap.

Let’s face it. It is pretty damn hard for Avicii to make bad music. He just has a good vibe and positive energy in all his tracks that just makes you happy when you hear it. I remember hearing “Silhouettes” a while back in some sets as well as in his Le7els Podcast. With redone vocals and an official video preview below I’m glad to hear this song will finally be officially released soon.

Adam Walder or better known as Funkagenda has a really unique sound to him and that is why I love hearing his tracks so much. As soon as I saw that this was The Official Groove Cruise Anthem 2012 I totally had to hear it. I’ve had friends go last year and I am definitely thinking about hitting up the cruise next year. This track sounds awesome and totally gets me in that Groove Cruise mood.
