Avalon Hollywood geared up for a night of Dutch House last Saturday night for their weekly Avaland events with Sidney Samson. It has been a while since we have seen Sidney Samson at Avalon and it was great to see him back. Gina Star opened up the main stage for wild night ahead. Click through for the full review.
We arrived to Avalon rather early to catch Gina Star’s set and although the dance floor was empty at first, it did not stop her from bumping out some serious tunes. The lights were flashing, the fog machines were on, and slowly but surely people started to flood into Avalon. Gina Star threw down for over 2 hours on her set and by the last half hour or so, the crowd in Avalon was getting down. Gina Star’s energy completely increased with the crowd and she was dropping bangers. It was now after midnight and we could see Sidney Samson walk onto the stage. We knew he was on shortly next.
Sidney Samson started his set with a bang and streamers flew from the ceiling as everyone jumped off their feet. The Avaland dancers danced on each side of the stage during Sidney’s set adding more visual entertainment for the crowd. Circles started opening up in different areas of the dance floor and shuffling battles began. Sidney threw down a little of everything from his new original and remixed tracks to some of his old school ones. He dropped a trap remix to “Calabria” early on and has the crowd going crazy. Several of his other noteworthy original tracks of the night were “Mutate,” “Thanks I Get,” “The World Is Yours,” and “Riverside.” Sidney Samson threw down and impressive 2 hour set and it was fire the whole way through. We had a blast and look forward to our next event at Avaland. For more information on Sidney Samson, Gina Star, and Avaland’s upcoming events hit the links below.
