The Palladium played host to Krewella this past Saturday as the highly anticipated and sold out event took over Hollywood. The show was the groups second stop in Southern California and expectations were high as we arrived at the venue. Candyland had the crowd moving as they played a set full of their own special brand of dubstep. The vibe of the room was relaxed and the crowd was already filling the dance floor.
Seven Lions took over the night around midnight and quickly established a much heavier tone to his set. His set was much deeper and more melodic than expected but the happiness evident on his face created an awesome balance of energy. A couple of our favorite tracks were Seven Lions own “Days To Come” and “Fevers” which features Minnesota and Mimi Page. Seven Lions set the tone perfectly for the crazy set Krewella was about to put on.
After months of waiting and a painfully long 15 minute intermission during which the volcano stage show came to life, it was finally showtime. The Volcano started to rumble to life and echos of their newest hit single “Live For The Night” pumped from the speakers. The trio suddenly appeared at the center of it all and the song hit its drop sending the crowd into a total frenzy. The hits came in quick succession and featured the live vocals of sisters Jasmin and Jahan. Rainman kept the music pumping, while the sisters put on an amazing show that proved that EDM is far from being a one trick pony of pulsating beats and loops. A few fan favorite tracks were their massive hit “Alive” as well as “Legacy” which they made in collaboration with Nicky Romero. After an hour on stage and an encore that featured their massive hit “Come and Get It” the show was over and the crowd was left craving just one more chance to Get Wet.
