This past Friday I had the privilege of going to Avalon Hollywood and experience different genres of music explode. Avalon had trap, house, dubstep, and moombahton playing throughout the whole night. Control had a jammed packed lineup with Luminox, the duo of Gents & Jawns, and Whiite. Unfortunately I got there as Whiiite was finishing up his set.
Headlining DJ, Luminox came on next and brought the house down with heavy trap and dubstep classics. People in the crowd went from dancing to trap to starting mosh pits when the drops would hit. During his set he played songs like Flosstradamus’ “Crowd Control,” Carnage and Heros X Villans’ “Space Man (Festival Trap REMIX),” and his remix to Bingo Players “Rattle.” Not only that but he dropped dubstep bangers like Flux Pavilions’ “Bass Cannon” and Skrillex’s “Scary Bolly Dub.” This was my first time catching Luminox and it sure won’t be my last. Luminox feeds so much energy into his set and definitely knows how to control the crowd. Finally Gent & Jawns were up and they brought a variety of moombathon, trap and little bit of hip hop into their set. During their set they played such songs as Flosstradamus’ “Roll Up,” Diplo’s “Bubble Butt,” as well as Major Lazer’s “Watch Out For This.” Gent & Jawns is heavily rising up in the EDM scene teaming up with labels like Mad Decent and even working on Diplo’s Express Yourself EP. Their set kept the crowd going early into the morning and I don’t think I got out of there till 3:15am. They are definitely producers to keep an eye on because they’re only going up from here. Once again Control threw an amazing event at Avalon from their DJ talent to production. For more hit the following links.
