Recap: Tchami @ Fonda Theatre 10.2.15

As the week came to a close last Friday, we couldn’t have been more excited about seeing one of our favorite artist Tchami perform at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles for his After Life tour. Earlier this year Tchami dropped the first and second single off his upcoming After Life EP, along with a huge remix package. The night promised to be full of a bunch of brand new music. After playing major festivals like Hard Summer, Life Is Beautiful and Tomorrowworld, we were in a for a treat to see him in a small venue with a couple thousand people.

The night started off with the opening DJ Landis LaPace who got the crowd in a very chill and relax state of mind before Tchami. He dropped some deep house that just perfectly complemented what the night was all about. After about an hour of the opening DJ, the curtains came down. After a few moments Tchami’s alter-like stage was revealed and everyone was ready for some future house madness. As the bass hit for the first time, the alter lit up and the father of future house took the stage. Tchami opened up with a remix to AlunaGeorge and Tchami’s  “You Know you Like It,” which is a personal favorite of ours. As the night went on, Tchami played all his hits including “Shot Caller,” “Rock Your Body,” and “Promesses.”

His set took us on a ride from beginning to end and also included his remix to Jack U’s famous “Take U There” as well as Mercer’s “Turn it Up. The bass kept bumping and the crowd kept dancing till Tchami finally closed out his set with one of his latest singles, “After Life.” Tchami absolutely killed it and we couldn’t have asked for a better night. Tchami’s style is unlike any other DJ and you’ve got to witness it for yourself to fully understand. Thanks to Get In!, Goldenvoice, and of course Tchami for an amazing night!
