On Friday, July 13 2012, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike made a stop at Playhouse as apart of their Smash The House Tour as well as Playhouse’s 3 Year Anniversary. This was only their second major United States tour so it was amazing to have them make a stop at Playhouse Hollywood. Click through the break for the full review.
Belgium superstars Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are rising fast and becoming known world wild. They are known for creating incredible mash ups as well as having Like Mike’s lively MC personality. Last year their track “The Way We See The World” featuring Nervo was named the official song for Tomorrowland (an EDM festival in Belgium) and incredibly enough that have been chosen again this year. Now you can understand how huge of an event this was for Playhouse.
As you can see from the pictures above Playhouse completely decked out their stage with 6 large LED screens boasting some amazing visuals. It was absolutely incredible and we were thoroughly impressed with the work Playhouse put in. We really hope Playhouse brings back the stage soon. Such as all big events, confetti blasted through the air as well as getting soaked from champagne showers as everyone danced the night away with glow sticks raised high in the air. Dimitri Vegas dropped original tracks like “Madagascar,” “Momentum,” and “The Way We See The World” as Like Mike pumped up the crowd yelling through his mic.

Another fun point was when the crowd joined in to sing the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Otherside” which then switched to Sidney Samson’s “The World Is Yours” and everyone went nuts! If you were able to attend this event then consider yourself lucky because not only did you catch Playhouse’s brilliant new set up but you caught two of EDM’s best! This year has been amazing for Playhouse and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike only add to the roster of incredible talent that has been brought to the club.
