Last Friday night on May 10th in Hollywood, we took a venture to the sounds of all types of heavy bass at Avalon’s Control Friday’s. If you’re a fan of Drum n Bass, Dubstep, Trap, and other bass filled music then this was the perfect night for you. The night started up with Doorly, continued with Terravita, and headlined with Dieselboy.
We got into Avalon as Doorly was starting to set the mood with his funky Electro beats. He also displayed his impressive scratching skills over the great sound system that Avalon Hollywood has to offer. Rusko was a surprise guest during his set and would pop out on the decks to hype the crowd and get everyone ready for a crazy night ahead. Surprise guests at Avalon isn’t a rare thing. Previous guests to show up to Avalon have been Skrillex, Dillon Francis, Borgore, and Carnage just to name a few. This shows you that Control Friday’s is the place to be in Hollywood on Friday nights.
Terravita was up next and brought out his MC throwing down a set full of insane Trap, Brostep, and Dubstep. They had the crowd in twerk mode and then switched them up into moshing within the same set. When you can mix all genres in your set then you are definitely going to have the crowd in your hands. Terravita was a great way to get things going for Dieselboy up next. Their sounds were nothing less than face melting, grimey bass which is personally fitting for Avalon’s dark setting.
Damian Higgins, better known by his stage name, Dieselboy finally took the stage next. Last year he acquired the nickname the “Destroyer” by always mixing cutting edge underground bass music. Dieselboy brought the house down with his Drum N Bass sounds and owned the night. It was awesome seeing the interaction not only with the crowd on the floor but also seeing all the people on stage raging alongside Dieselboy. The LED screen was blasting his logo along with crazy visuals as lasers shot through the air. As much as we’ve already said, it was a night filled with straight heavy bass. As always Control Friday’s at Avalon does not disappoint. The night was filled with a great atmosphere, great talent, and a great experience.
