During EDC week I was very excited to attend my first pool party at Daylight Beach Club in Mandalay Bay to see Alesso, one of my favorite DJs. Its been an amazing journey seeing Alesso’s career explode as I remember the first time I saw him playing a thirty minute set before Swedish House Mafia at EDC 2011. His hit at the time was a remix to Nadia Ali, Starkillers, & Alex Kenji’s “Pressure,” and I remember telling myself this is guy is going to blow up. Now look at him taking control of main stages at festivals including Ultra, TomorrowWorld, and EDC as well as selling out clubs and venues worldwide.

Alesso Daylight 5

As I walked into Daylight I heard the bass and the crowd from outside. This added to my excitement because feeling the energy and the music is always what makes these pool parties so fun. My first glance is Alesso on stage with his hands in the air getting the crowd hyped for an amazing set to come. As I walked around the club and danced to some of my favorite songs like “Lose Myself” with One Republic and “Under Control” with Calvin Harris, it was amazing to see the whole sold out club getting down. As soon as bangers like Showtek’s “Booyah” and Steve Angello and Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman’s “Payback” were played, people began to splash in the pool at the sound of those massive drops. As always, Alesso never disappoints playing a variety of music in his mixes and still being one of the hottest DJs out right now. With several hit singles under his belt, I can only imagine what he has stored for the rest of 2014 and can only hope that there will be an album in the near future. Overall it was an amazing day and I’ll definitely be making my way back to Daylight Beach Club in the near future.
