Review: Alesso’s Uprising Tour in Los Angeles

Last Friday, Alessandro Lindblad, otherwise known as Alesso made his way to the Los Angeles Shrine during his first North American Tour. Opening sets for this night were Matt Goldman and Clockwork, but unfortunately I was unable to see them. Thankfully I made my way inside the Shrine just minutes before Alesso would start his set. As I secured my spot on the balcony, the lights went dark, the crowd pushed forward and the first visuals of Alesso appeared on screen.

Suddenly we heard the vocals of Matthew Koma singing Alesso’s track “Years” and as the drop hit Co2 guns shot into the air. The crowd was screaming and singing along as Alesso’s logo, engulfed in flames, displayed above. This set was everything I wanted to hear from Alesso. We got to hear his new hits like “Calling” and “If I Lose Myself,” as well as his classics, “Nillionaire” and his remix to “Pressure.” Alesso’s set felt more like a journey through his life as an artist rather than just a regular set. The entire time the crowd was filled with excitement and emotion as we fed off Alesso’s energy. It felt like everyone there knew the words to every song played. When it came time to close, Alesso stood on top of his DJ table to thank everyone and to sing along to “If I Lose Myself” one last time. It’s amazing to see how far Alesso has come and his Uprising Tour was definitely a night to remember.
