Within the last couple of weeks here in the Los Angeles area we have been getting a lot of quality DJs in which you’re actually having a hard time deciding on who to see. You realize little by little that Hollywood is starting to turn into the next major city for major DJs all over the world to perform. Friday night started Swedish duo Cazzette’s first stop for the North American tour. Avalon, located in the heart of Hollywood, has been taking on Caspa, Skrillex, and Tommy Trash for their “Control Friday’s”. Now they Cazzette to add to their all star list of world class DJs. Although Cazzette are a duo, the set only consisted of one of the DJs. This was a little bit of a let down however we can understand there can always be personal problems or late incidents that wouldn’t allow Sebastian to show. It was up to Alex to take control of the set at the famous Avalon and he tore it up. You could say Cazzette is one of Avicii’s protoges so it’s funny how Alex looks just like him. Having long slicked back blonde hair you actual felt that when he took off his sunglasses you would see Avicii standing up there. With the sounds of “Sweet Dreams” which is an Avicii original as well as their Remix to David Guetta’s “Titanium” Alex took control of the crowd and made Avalon erupt with its sound of house and dubstep. Later into the night we go into a little of the Hollywood theme of things with a remix to the homeboys from Compton, N.W.A’s “Straight Outta of Compton”. Even though it sounded nothing like the original one it totally got everyone dancing throwing there hands in air and just ready to party. We also heard their new unreleased remix to Kanye West & Jay-Z’s “Ni**as In Paris”, which with its grimy dubstep beats mixed with the original created a sickening new banger which everyone in the crowd sang along too. Cazzette is so sick when it comes to mixing hip hop into their sets as they also did with a remix to Chris Brown’s “Look At Me Now.”
Though they only have a short North American tour I’m sure they will have a great set in the upcoming week of UMF and a whole new set of music ready to bump in the streets of Downtown Miami. Next up was 24 year old Indonesian Angger Dimas. As soon and he jumped on the energy of the crowd went crazy. Everyone started jumping up and down as Angger Dimas yelled through the microphone. Drinking shots of Jager and playing hit after hit everyone was having a great time. Unfortunately we were unable to stay for his entire set but if it was anything like it began then everyone there had one hell of a night. I’ve also heard that Angger is the first Indonesian to ever DJ at Avalon and if that is true congrats to him!
