Review: Chuckie & Gregori Klosman @ Playhouse 5/26/12

Memorial Day Weekend was a wild one and we were lucky enough to catch DJ Chuckie & Gregori Klosman at Playhouse Hollywood for Insomniac’s Road To EDC Las Vegas. This sold out event was insane and if you were lucky enough to come you know exactly what we are talking about. Upon entering Playhouse there was already a line out the door of people anxiously waiting to get in and party. As we walked in, the music was already bumping, the people were dancing, bottles were popping. Click through the break for the full review.

Paris born Gregori Klosman took the stage before Chuckie with an awesome opening set. He had the crowd dancing to tracks like Dirty South’s “I’m Coming Home” mashed up with Daft Punk, David Guetta’s “Little Bad Girl”, and Nicky Romero’s “Camorra.” Gregori Klosman had the place filled with so much energy as they awaited for the Dirty Dutch king. Gregori was a real cool guy interacting with the crowd while on stage and even taking pictures with his fans outside. It was a real treat catching his set because this guy is a for sure rising star in EDM. If you have not had a chance to listen to his latest collaboration with Chuckie titled “The Numb3r5” then you will see why.

After Mr. Klosman’s set was finished we had the man of the hour, the Dirty Dutch king himself, DJ Chuckie jump on stage to begin his amazing set. Chuckie has got to be one of the most energy filled DJs out there. You can tell he loves his job as he never stops smiling and he loves to jump and go crazy with the crowd. If you have never had a chance to listen to Chuckie’s original track “Who Is Ready To Jump” then I strongly suggest you do because you will hear exactly how Chuckie gets his audience off their feet. We heard some awesome Chuckie tracks that night including “1,2,3,4” with Laidback Luke & Martin Solevig, his remix to Rihanna’s “We Found Love,” and “Electro Dude” with Glowinthedark.

Chuckie jumped on the mic during his track “What Happens in Vegas” and switched up the lyrics to “What Happens in LA” which made the crowd go wild. Now Chuckie’s set isn’t also complete without giving his other fellow DJs a spin on his tables so we heard him drop tracks like Dada’s Life “Kick Out the Epic Mothafucker,” Tiesto’s “Maximal Crazy,” and Hardwell’s “Spaceman.”This night was definitely one for the books and I’m sure everyone there will definitely remember it. This was just a tease for a lot of us because we will be catching Chuckie again at EDC Las Vegas where we get to see what else he has for us. If you won’t be able to make it don’t be too bummed out because you can listen to his latest mix from EDC NY on his Soundcloud where he premiered two NO ID tracks which we also heard at Playhouse. As our road to EDC Las Vegas comes closer we would love to thank all our followers,DJ Chuckie and Gregori Klosman for an amazing night, and the Playhouse for always bringing the best DJ talent to Los Angeles.
