Event Recap: Caspa’s 500 Tour at Lot 613 Los Angeles

Last Sunday was a very special night as Dub Police founder Caspa brought his 500 Tour to Los Angeles. This tour was in support of his new album of the same title. The event took place in small, dark venue known as Lot 613 in Downtown LA. The lineup for the night included The Others, Steady, P Snugs, and of course, Caspa himself.

This night was all about the sound system and the vibe, which we immediately felt as we entered the venue. Thanks to the Pk Sound System that was used, you could literally feel the bass vibrating off the walls as soon as you walked through the doors. The venue only held a few hundred people, which made for a truly intimate set. Production was at a bare minimum with only red lights lighting up the stage. Fans attending were there because they wanted to hear the music. This was all set up because Caspa wanted to bring his true sound and environment from London. True bass heads, like ourselves, absolutely loved it.

The night was filled with the rawest and most bass-heavy dubstep you could imagine. Caspa dropped brand new material from his new album 500 as well as fan favorite classics. Caspa was also joined by his DJ friends and supporters. Protohype, 12th Planet, and the SMOG Records crew were there along with Datsik who was on stage getting down as Caspa dropped his track “Scum.” The night wouldn’t be complete without Caspa dropping his remix to Deadmau5 and Kaskade’s “I Remember,” as well as his originals “Where’s My Money” and “War.” The night was perfect and everyone on the lineup absolutely killed it. The vibes were on point and it was honestly one of the best dubstep shows we’ve ever been to. Our ears are still ringing from all that massive bass.

On his Instagram account Caspa says, “Last night was a very important show in LA for so many different reasons. It wasn’t about fancy lights, confetti cannons or any bullshit gimmicks. It was about the sound system, the people and the vibe that’s created. If that was my last ever LA show, I’m a happy man.”
