Recap: Alesso @ The Greek Theatre 9/24/16

Alesso took over The Greek Theatre up in the hills of Los Angeles last Saturday night for an unforgettable performance. As soon as this show was announced months ago, we knew this was going to be something special. After working hard to build a brand new stage set up over the last four months, Alesso completely blew us away. The night began with Swedish producer Salvatore Ganacci on the decks throwing down an energetic set, which perfectly hyped up the crowd. Cartoon visuals of girls twerking and streakers in trench coats displayed on the massive LED screens as Salvatore dropped Marshmello’s remix to Adele’s “Hello”and a mix of Swedish House Mafia’s “One.”

Soon after the lights went dark over the sold out Greek Theatre as Alesso’s intro began to play. The LED screens on his 100 meter wide stage lit up with mesmerizing visuals as Alesso & Dillon Francis’ “Take My Breath Away” began to play. The new stage setup was absolutely incredible. It was like watching a massive outdoor movie with visuals that were displaying 3D without actually needing any glasses. Throughout the entire show the theatre was on their feet as Alesso took us on musical journey from start to finish. Alesso held nothing back and the set went from 0 to 100 real quick. A giant piano displayed across the LED screens as Alesso began to play “Years” and the entire crowd started to sing along. The energy and vibe from the crowd was infectious.

Shortly after, Alesso switched things up by dropping DJ Snake’s “Propaganda” and the whole theater went nuts. Alesso then went back into his originals playing “Heroes” and “Under Control” and the theater lit up with lasers, strobes, and Co2 blasts. I really can’t say enough about the visuals. They were incredible and it was truly an audio sensory overload. Alesso promised special guests and he brought out Roy English to sing their single, “Cool” live. His set couldn’t be complete without including two of his hugest hits as he dropped mashups to “Calling” and “Pressure.” The entire show was way too much fun and Alesso threw down such a magical set!
