Recap: CRSSD Fest Spring 2017

Last weekend CRSSD Fest returned for its Spring 2017 edition and we got to venture to Waterfront Park in San Diego for another jam packed lineup of house x techno. The two-day festival brought an array of underground sounds and amazing vibes for an ocean view party combining music, amazing food, and signature CRSSD cocktails. From its original year in 2015, we have seen CRSSD bring us nothing but amazing talent and they did it once again this year with huge headliners including Flume, Duke Dumont, and Claude VonStroke. The festival took place over three stages: The Palms, City Steps, and Ocean View, all of which brought out some really memorable sets on both days of the festival.

CRSSD Fest always brings out such a fun experience and the first day of the festival had such a stacked lineup that we were running from stage to stage. Running into new and old friends while dancing through the crowds always makes for the best memories. During the day the minimal vibes of the stages and energy of the crowd really felt like we were at a beach party. As the sun set over the festival the production of the stages lit up with lights, lazers, and smoke. We tried to hit up as many sets as we could and loved seeing some artists for our very first time including Giraffe, Yotto, Bob Moses, and Recondite(LIVE). Some of our favorite sets for Saturday have to go to Wax Motif, Mija, AlungaGeorge, Justin Martin, 2ManyDJs, and Duke Dumont.

Sunday, we were back at it again, looking to explore new artists, find great new music, and dance our asses off to close out the festival. Although the weather wasn’t on our side with rain coming down during mid-day, it didn’t stop anyone from continuing to party and have a great time. Sunday was special as ClaudeVonStoke hosted the Birdhouse Stage with Jackmaster, Horse Meat Disco, Skream, Cutsnake, Sonny Fodera, and more. We hit similar waters jumping from set to set starting with surprise guest Chris Lake, Peggy Gou, Dusky (LIVE), Snakehips, and Cassy. Our favorite sets of Sunday go to Skream, Seth Troxler B2B Eats Everything, and Jackmaster before closing out the night with Claude VonStroke.

CRSSD Fest remains one of our very favorite festivals due to its eclectic lineups, perfect San Diego location, awesome crowd, and of course those unmatched CRSSD vibes. The festival continues to recruit such incredible artists every year to create unique lineups, which makes it special compared to many electronic festivals with same regurgitated lineups. CRSSD Fest will no doubt have you exploring new music, meeting new friends, and giving you an experience you will never forget. We are super excited to see what CRSSD Fest has in store for the next festival and we strongly encourage you to join in on the fun!
