GRAMMY® Award-winning and RIAA Diamond-certified duo The Chainsmokers have officially released their new EP, LOVE IS KIND, available everywhere now. The five-track project includes “ECHO,” “ALREADY KNOW,” “FIVE PAST THREE,” “LOVE IS KIND,” and “WILD,” and sees the duo reunite with Swedish singer-songwriter Winona Oak, whose vocals are featured throughout the entire release.
The project builds upon the longstanding creative chemistry between The Chainsmokers and Winona Oak, following their 2018 collaboration “HOPE.” However, LOVE IS KIND takes the partnership in a more intimate and emotionally driven direction. Inspired by Winona Oak’s personal love story, the EP was crafted around her songwriting and vocals, with the production intentionally designed to amplify the emotion and storytelling at the core of each track.
Speaking on the release, Alex Pall and Drew Taggart shared: “Winona fell in love since we had last saw her and that has fueled the story behind all these songs. We wanted to keep that story and her mesmerizing voice in the center of this project and build a world around it with the production. Our only criteria was to make sure it would be extremely fun to play in our set. It was therapeutic to work within those self-inflicted parameters. The result has been beautiful.”
The release of LOVE IS KIND arrives during another massive year for The Chainsmokers, who are set to perform at some of the world’s biggest festivals this summer, including EDC Las Vegas, Lollapalooza, Tomorrowland, and Palm Tree Music Festival. The EP also follows their recent collaboration with John Summit on “ALL THE TIME,” as well as the announcement that their Las Vegas residency has been extended through 2029.
