Review: City Of Dreams Tour @ The Palladium 11/24/12

On Saturday November 24th 2012 Dirty South made his last stop in the city of Los Angeles for his City Of Dreams Tour. This was his largest North American tour to date and the Australian based DJ ended it with a bang here at the Hollywood Palladium. Dirty South brought along an amazing line up of DJs for this epic sold out show. Upon arrival to the Palladium a line was up around the block of fans eagerly waiting to enter the venue before it had even opened up. Click through the break for the full review.

To open the night, the winner of Insomniac Events Discovery Project, Odmark, was on the decks to set the mood for one amazing night. After his opening set the Dutch duo, NO_ID, hopped on as more people flooded indoors. Early on in the night the Palladium was already filled with people dancing. As NO_ID finished up their set Turkish DJ Deniz Koyu came on and had people going crazy to his own original tracks like “Tung” and “Bong.”

Fourth up was Russian DJ Arty who completely blew up the Palladium. His set was nothing but pure energy and he never slowed down once. The amount of lasers shooting above the crowd was crazy. One stand out moment was when Arty mixed his own production “Around The World” with Nadia Ali’s “Rapture.”

Finally the moment everyone waited for was Dirty South’s three-hour set to end the night. As Dirty South took the stage a giant dream catcher with an aerialist appeared above stage along with full LED screens being lit up displaying his logo. Lasers shot through the sky as Dirty South opened his set with his title track “City Of Dreams.” He made sure to mix and mash a lot of tracks together but not forgetting to play his own tracks like “Alive” and his brand new original collaboration with Michael Brun titled “Rift.” With only around 30 minutes left of his show Dirty South took the microphone and took a moment thank Los Angeles. The final song of the show was Dirty South and Axwell’s remix to Temper Trap’s “Sweet Disposition.” It was an emotional and amazing way to end a night, which was one for the record books.
