Review: R3hab @ Playhouse 5/19/12

During our weekend Insomniac not only had their first EDC in New York but also had some amazing talent in LA. Insomniac and Playhouse Hollywood started their Road to EDC event with none other than the Chainsaw Madness king we all know as R3hab. Click through for the full review.

We have had the pleasure of watching R3hab in past events such as EDC Las Vegas, The Music Box with Sydney Samson, and Dayglow with Sydney Samson as well. The night began with an awesome set by DJ Eye who set the stage for R3hab who was going to finish the night. The energy of the club was high and as DJ Eye grabbed the mic to ask if everyone was ready for R3hab, the crowd went insane. Hands were in the air and the crowd was yelling as they eagerly awaited the Dutch DJ to take the stage and replace the sound equipment of Playhouse with his Chainsaw Madness!

He opened with one of my personal favorite songs, “Sending my Love” which he collaborated with Swanky Tunes. This epic track always has everyone singing along. Within his set he also dropped his remix to Calvin Harris ft. Kelis’ “Bounce” which reminds us why we fell in love with him in the first place last year at EDC Las Vegas. Several other great tracks he dropped were Axwell’s edit to “In my Mind” and Swedish House Mafia’s collaboration with Knife Party titled “Antidote.” I have seen R3hab DJ several times and he never disapoints. He keeps his energy high, plays all the right tracks, and interacts with the crowd creating a night everyone will remember.

Along with R3hab, Playhouse never fails at creating a crazy night for everyone. With bottles popping, confetti in the air, and CO2 guns firing into the crowd, there is never a dull moment. The overall Dutch scene has been taking over and if you are lucky enough to attend, Playhouse will be hosting the great Dirty Dutch DJ Chuckie this Saturday May 26th. If you were at the R3hab event make sure you head over to Playhouse’s Facebook to check out pictures from the night. For more on R3hab head to the following links.
